Car Park Lighting

Car Park Lighting

VeeLite manufactures High-performance Area Lights with superior LED optics to illuminate carparks to regulation standards with the minimum number of Lights and Poles.   Our Luminaires are energy-efficient, robust and low maintenance. Typically, they have a rated life of 100,000+ hours.

While Area Lights are generally best for lighting Carparks, Street Lights are often used, so Projects with both are shown here.

Less Clutter + More Space

We design carpark lighting schemes to both meet European lighting standards but with fewer Poles and Lights. The result is Projects which are minimal in appearance Projects looks more attractive, because of less clutter.  We also design to ensure there is an even spread of light (uniformity) and an absense of glare.

For many customers, we also provide a higher average light level.  Light levels are measured in Lux and a typical carpark would be designed to 20 Lux average.  However, a retail carpark or a prestigious Building, or a carpark with security issues might be designed to a higher light level – eg 40 Lux.  The Technical section of our Website contains further information on lighting design and Lux recommendations.

Design Issues

Area Lights (or Carpark Lights) are designed to illuminate Carparks more efficiently.  In appearance, they provide a cleaner appearance as only 1 Light is needed per Pole Versus the traditional 2 Streetlights and a Twin Outreach.   Smaller Carparks may use Streetlights to match adjoining access roads.

The Lighting layout will often be a balance between the Height of the Poles, the quantity of the Poles, the number and output of each Luminaire, the light level required, the appearance of the Building, local planning laws, etc.   For example, in most Projects, we try to keep the height of Poles lower than the height of the Building.

We ask the Customer to send us an Autocad drawing to include the Carpark area.  Using Lighting Design software, we calculate the optimum solution and send to the Customer for review.  For customers, there is no cost for this service.

Small Area Lighting

For smaller carparks, we may only need some low height Poles with a Streetlight, or even a Bollard – Some of our Bollards are offered with heights up to 4M.  From 6M or 8M and higher, we would offer specialised carpark lights.  Above 12M, we would often offer Floodlights or High Mast Floodlighting which is available up to 30M.
