Carpark Ramp Lighting

Carpark Ramp Lighting

Walking Track Lighting or Pathway Lighting can often be a choice of LED Floodlights, Streetlights, Bollards, Ground lights, etc. VeeLite plans the optimum solution using software to minimise the number of Lights required and minimise the Energy load, but maximise the Light levels and ensure an adequate spread of Light along the Walkway.

While there are several potential solutions, most Sports Clubs have installed Streetlights on the Walkway.  This is a dedicated Walking Track Lighting system for the Walkway only.   Special LED optics are used, suitable for a narrow Pathway and this provides a wide spacings between the Poles.  VeeLite have typically used 40M+ spacings between Streetlight Poles.  Several other options are listed below.

Ramp with Wall Lights

Lighting a Carpark Ramp can be achieved using Floodlights or LED Bulkheads on the side Walls.   In some cases, this may be the only option available, for example,  on the Ramp to the Roof there may be no overhead ceiling.   Wall Lighting can also provide a good transition between the exterior and interior lighting of the Carpark Building.

The Photo below shows a Ramp leading down to a Basement Car park.  Lighting was provided by Floodlights installed on the side Walls.  This cube shaped Luminaire is available in wattages to 50w LED.

In some cases, where there is a ceiling over the Ramp, the Floodlight pointing down can be changed to a Floodlight pointing upwards to the Ceiling and providing indirect lighting on the Ramp. For narrow Ramps, an LED strip system may be an option.

Ramp Lighting – Ceiling

In most cases, the lighting on a Ramp will be achieved by overhead ceiling mounted Lights.  In some situations, for example, there may be no side Walls, or the Side Walls may be too far apart to illuminate the centre area, or there may not be enough height to install Lights on a Ceiling, or the Ceiling structure may not be suitable, etc.  In most cases, where there is a choice of overhead or Wall lighting, the overhead option will generally provide a more efficient and higher quality lighting result.

Depending on the Project, it may be decided that a Wall Lighting or a Ceiling option is the more aesthetic scheme, or a combination of both.

The Photo below shows a Ramp within a Multi-storey Car park where the lighting was provided by Bulkheads (Parklites) installed on the Ceiling.  (These were Metal Halide but a similar fittings – with less depth – are offered with LED optics).
