Typical Galvanised Finish
Framed Door
Galvanising is a process where steel Poles are immersed in a Zinc solution which eats into the metal. The zinc serves as a sacrificial anode so that even if the coating is scratched, the exposed steel will still be protected by the remaining zinc. This results in a surface which is protected against rust or corrosion.
Galvanising does not provide a consistent finish and Poles will appear blotchy with white-ish patches. Sometimes they may also appear with dark grey blotch patches, as shown on PDF (Click here to open). If this is a problem, it may be necessary to paint the Poles.
