Pathways

Pathway Lighting

Pathway Lighting can often be a choice of LED Floodlights, Streetlights, Bollards, Ground lights, etc.  VeeLite plans the optimum solution using software to minimise the number of Lights required and minimise the Energy load, but maximise the Light levels and ensure an adequate spread of Light along the Walkway.

In occasional circumstances, it may be appropriate for the Lighting to be set back from the Pathway or recessed/semi-recessed for safety or aesthetic reasons.  Glare, planning permission, budgets, Vandalism, accidental damage, safety and other factors all come in to play and are considered in the planning of Pathways, Walking Tracks, Cycleways and similar lighting projects.

Lights at Entrance to Building

Blanchardstown Corporate Park – Area Lights on Entrance Pathway

In the first 2 photos below,  the wide path uses a lighting Pole with a decorative Streetlight or Arealight that provides light on all sides (symmetric distribution).  These provide a wider spread than either conventional streetlights, which typically only illuminate the area in front, but not behind the light.  The possibility of Vandalism or Accidental damage is reduced when the Lights are at a height, but the Pole itself may be an issue.

LED Bollards (typically from 1M to 4M height) is an alternative to Streetlights and are shown below on a Greenway (Cycle and Pedestrian Paths) and on a pathway ouside an Apartment Building.

For Greenway or Cycleway Projects, VeeLite has specialised Bollards with optics that can provide lighting for dual carraigeway or wide Tracks, together with robust anti-vandal construction.

Architectural Streetlights are an option for some Pathways and a Photo below shows how this can compliment a nearby Road lighting scheme.

The lighting can sometimes be indirect.  For example, the Groundlights below which illuminate the Wall which is then reflected back to the Pathway.

For some Projects, Solar Powered Lights have been supplied.  The Solar panels are either installed with the lighting Poles or are hidden nearby to prevent vandalism or theft.
