Aircraft Hangar

Aircraft Hangar Lights

Aircraft Hangar Lights are generally Highbays installed near the ceiling of these Building.   As Aircraft are generally at various heights up to 18M (example, an Airbus 330) so the area to be illuminated can be high and large.   With Lights installed at such heights, they need to have narrow beam optics that can efficiently light the area at ground level.   Typically, 500 Lux light level is required at Ground or Wing level.  With VeeLites advanced lighting software, we can also calculate vertical lights, on the side of the aircraft for example, and augment if necessary.

The 2 Aircraft hangars shown are located at Dublin Airport below and were illuminated with VeeLite SoftBay Luminaires and HighBays respectively.  The Softbay Light provides typically 15% uplight to illuminate the ceiling and was an Architectural requirement.  HighBays typically only provide direct downlight.
