Bespoke

Bespoke Lighting

VeeLite has been a lighting manufacturer based in Waterford since 1984.  Presently based in a 2000 sqm Industrial facility, we have the in-house production facilities, the know-how and years of experience in designing and manufacturing bespoke lighting, typically large external Specials.

Example – Belgard Retail Centre

The main architectural feature lighting at the Belgard Retail Centre is the large illuminated Reflectors on the 6 Building Pillars.  Architects wanted to make an impact with the lighting and this bespoke lighting feature was produced and supplied to suit the existing Pillars, to provide the dramatic effect shown.

It consists of an integrated reflector designed to compliment the pole with separate lighting unit to provide indirect lighting effect. The reflector is made of aluminium and comes in a white finish. Typical installation is on a 4m – 12m constant diameter pole.

External Indirect Light

Belgard, Dublin – Bespoke Lighting Feature

Example – Guinness Brewery

The famous Guinness Brewery at St James Gate Dublin was recently refurbished, using both bespoke lighting, LED streetlights and high performance Optra carpark luminaires. The internal of this large site was illuminated with 10 high efficiency Optra luminaires and 14 LED StreetLED luminaires, which provides lighting solutions for the roadways, parking areas and storage areas.

On the perimeter wall which runs alongside the Quays, some 31 bespoke lighting units were manufactured and installed. These consisted of special wall brackets to suit the various heights and features of the wall, together with a white disc on top, illuminated by a small floodlight underneath. This provides light indirectly, with the beam bouncing off the disc and projecting the light downwards.

Example – Stainless Steel – Helix Theatre

Architects A&D Wejchert  needed Stainless Steel bespoke lighting to compliment the Award winning Building at the Helix Performing Arts centre located on the Dublin City University campus.

VeeLite manufactured 5 Stainless Steel ‘Specials’ to order.  Both the conical columns and the conical Luminaires were produced in Stainless Steel.  The luminaire is IP65 rated and with an efficient reflector system.  Removable brackets and banners were supplied for maximum user flexibility. Light output of 30w to 60w LED would typically be offered.

This unique architectural conical stainless steel light is suitable for a wide range of commercial or social environments including theatres, corporate buildings, hotels, offices, churches, etc. Streetlight/asymmetric or symmetric optics are available and there is an occupancy sensor option, so that the lighting can be switched off (or to low output) when there is no pedestrian traffic nearby.  This would help to reduce energy and running costs.  Other options include RAL colours (blasted finish on stainless steel as standard) and photocell.

Example – Ashtown Centre

An Architectural lighting column scheme was a requirement at Ashtown village town centre, a suburb in West Dublin.

The forked columns provided include some floodlights for local illumination and give the new centre a distinctive appearance.  The floodlights are typically 30w or 50w LED.   These feature columns are typically 9m height.  As these lighting columns are bespoke products, made to order, they can be adjusted to suit requirements.  Typical finish is black or an architectural grey, but most RALs are available.

Projects suitable for feature lighting such as architectural lighting columns include town centres, plaza lighting, entrance area lighting to shopping centres or large retail stores, university concourse areas, etc.

This finish can be in different RALs although black and light grey RAL 9006 are most common.  Anti-graffiti paint is also an option.
